Hochman’s inverse theorem for entropy and exact overlap conjecture

摘要:An important open problem to compute the dimension of self-similar sets with overlaps is the exact overlap conjecture. In this talk, I will introduce Hochman’s inverse theorem for entropy, from which Hochman proved that the exact overlap conjecture holds for IFS defined by algebraic parameters. I will try to explain the key ideas. The talk includes the following three parts:

(i)Hochman’s inverse theorem for entropy;

(ii)Exact dimensionality and uniform entropy dimension for self-similar measures;

(iii)Exact overlap conjecture.
